Speaker bios:
Matt Carlstedt, Citimark
Matt is the Managing Director at Citimark. His primary focus is on acquisition and capital market activity including identifying opportunities and the structuring of debt and equity. Additionally, Matt works with the asset management group to maximize the value of the Citimark portfolio. Previous to Citimark, he was Director of Investments for Browning Investments where he participated in the acquisition, development, and capital market functions of the company. Previous to Browning, Matt was a partner with the CBRE Indianapolis Investment Properties team assisting clients in the disposition of over $400 million in office, industrial, retail, and medical properties. Matt earned his B.S. degree in Finance and Management from Xavier University and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.

Mitch specializes in asset resolution services as well as representing buyers, sellers, tenants, and landlords within office, retail, industrial, and land brokerage. He is also the Managing Broker of Bradley Company’s Indianapolis office. Bradley Company, now boasting 7 offices with nearly 90 commercial brokers and over 360 employees, is Indiana’s largest commercial real estate brokerage and property management firm. With over 1,000 commercial real estate transactions arranged thus far, Mitch and his asset resolutions team work with lending executives, credit departments, and asset managers to sell various commercial real estate for regionally- and nationally-associated secured creditors spanning eight states in the Midwest ranging from multi-tenant retail centers, industrial warehouse facilities, office buildings, multi-family developments, development ground, religious facilities, bowling alleys, car washes, filling stations, and drive-through liquor stores.

Tom Scherer, Dentons  
Tom Scherer concentrates his practice in bankruptcy, restructuring and creditors' rights. He has extensive experience representing secured creditors, creditors committees and debtors in cases under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code. He also devotes significant time to commercial litigation, receiverships, workouts and asset sales relating to financially distressed businesses. He is a veteran speaker, having given numerous presentations on bankruptcy, reorganization and commercial lending.

Joel Schneider, Hilco Real Estate  
Joel joined Hilco Real Estate in 2012 and leads the disposition group, assisting clients with monetizing owned and leasehold real estate with a focus on industrial, retail and special use assets. In his thirty+ years of real estate experience, he has developed a broad range of expertise, covering the areas of sale transactions, asset and portfolio management, valuation and investment analysis, development, financing, and strategic planning. Joel specializes in assisting clients who are generally not in the real estate business --- usually in the context of a bankruptcy, liquidation, or corporate restructuring --- with implementing strategies to create liquidity from their surplus real estate assets. Some of his clients include Cenveo, Hostess, Sun Capital Partners, Lowe’s, FTI Consulting, CIBC, American Blue Ribbon Holdings, H/2 Capital Partners, Furniture Brands, Ares Management, and Service King.

Joel earned a B.S. degree from Indiana University and a Masters in City Planning from Harvard University. He is a licensed real estate broker and is a member of several professional organizations, including the Turnaround Management Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the National Association of Federal Equity Receivers, and the Chicago Real Estate Council where he previously served as its president.

Mr. Urick has 20 + years commercial lending experience and is responsible for oversight of the private banking, nonprofit, treasury management, commercial real estate, and commercial lending departments of the Bank. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Butler University, and an MBA in finance with distinction from DePaul University.  Mr. Urick currently serves as a board member of The Center for the Performing Arts.

Cancellation Policy:
Requests for refunds must be made in writing no later than 48 hours prior to the date of the event (e-mail is acceptable). No cancellations will be accepted within 48 hours of the event. Substitutions are allowed and must be submitted in writing (e-mail is acceptable). The substitute must be from the same firm as the original registrant and, if the substitute is not a TMA Member, the difference in registration fee will be required. Please note that if you register for the event after the cancellation deadline has passed, you will not be eligible for a refund should you need to cancel your registration. The cancellation policy applies to all registrants regardless of when the registration is submitted. Registrants who fail to attend the event and do not provide written notice in accordance with these policies and deadlines are responsible for full payment. In the event the chapter cancels the event, refunds will be offered to registrants.
