2026 TMA Chesapeake Georgetown University Judge Kaplan Fireside Chat

The Georgetown University Distressed Debt & Restructuring Association (GUDDRA), in partnership with the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) Chesapeake Chapter, will host a fireside chat with Judge Michael Kaplan, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the District of New Jersey. Moderated by Michael Maggard (MSF ’26) and Tian Zhang (3L), the conversation will cover Judge Kaplan’s perspective on bankruptcy and restructuring from the bench, along with reflections on his career and experiences beyond the courtroom.

The event is open to bankruptcy, restructuring, and turnaround professionals as well as business and law school students interested in the field. The program will include time for audience Q&A, followed by small bites and a networking session with fellow attendees.
