Jason Alpert - Managing Partner, Castlebar Holdings

Jason Alpert is the Managing Partner of Castlebar Holdings, a distressed debt investor and an advisor / consultant for financial institutions.  Castlebar helps banks and credit unions in resolving and mitigating risk within their problem loan portfolios.

Jason created and led the distressed portfolio sale team for Wells Fargo, pooling and selling criticized and classified commercial loans in the secondary market. In just under five years, Jason’s team was able to sell over $1 billion in assets in 38 States achieving above market results and large recoveries for the bank.

Jason also led a workout team of commercial bankers, dispersed across the eastern United States. Jason’s team was able to restructure and resolve distressed loans to a wide variety of middle-market commercial borrowers ranging from a variety of asset types and industries.

Jason was a highly decorated Banker at Wells Fargo, having been awarded the Bank’s Golden Spoke Award (top 1% performer), Pinnacle Award, and Corporate Innovation Competition winner. He was also recognized as a “40 under 40” in the Tampa Bay Business Journal in 2021.

Jason is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tampa teaching “Introduction to Global Business” and was named Most Outstanding Part-Time Faculty for the College of Business in 2022. The required course covered a wide range of business disciplines and a variety of business cases and simulations.

Jason is on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Risk Management Association Journal as well as the Florida Chapter of the RMA and Turnaround Management Association. Jason has been published seven times in the RMA Journal and won Credit Risk Article of the Year. He is also a Judge in the University of Florida’s annual Next Big Idea Business Case Competition. He is a highly sought out speaker presenting at various professional conferences. Jason has MBA and bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Florida. 

 

Kristen Palmer - Vice President - Accounts Receivable Financing, First Business Specialty Finance, LLC

Kristen Palmer brings more than a decade of experience in the financial services industry to her role at First Business Bank. She has held key positions with several specialty commercial finance lenders, where she structured revolving lines of credit, analyzed risk, and managed underwriting processes. Kristen's hands-on experience allows her to provide tailored solutions that meet our clients' unique needs to boost cash flow, helping them achieve their business goals and maintain a competitive edge.

Kristen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University. Since 2018, Kristen has been active within the South Florida financial community, serving as President of the South Florida Chapter of the Secured Finance Network (SFNet). This commitment to industry engagement and continuous learning ensures that she remains at the forefront of industry trends and best practices, allowing her to deliver the highest level of service to our clients.

 

Bill Elliott - President - Accounts Receivable Financing, First Business Specialty Finance, LLC

Bill Elliott has more than 40 years of experience in the commercial finance sector with a special focus on Accounts Receivable Financing and Asset-Based Lending. He spent a considerable portion of his career with Heller Financial and The CIT Group/Commercial Services. He founded Rexford Funding, an independent accounts receivable financing company focused on staffing, transportation, manufacturing, wholesale, and other B2B services.

After selling Rexford Funding, he engaged in several long-term consulting projects in mezzanine and accounts receivable finance. Prior to joining First Business Bank, Bill served as National Underwriting Manager for Triumph Commercial Finance, an asset-based lender.

Bill has been actively involved in the International Factoring Association and SFNet. He has served in fundraising efforts for City of Hope and National Jewish Health. Bill is deeply engaged in his children’s activities and has served as a coach in AYSO, Little League Baseball, and youth basketball. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Notre Dame.
